I am good at literacy and maths, and also have other out of curriculum expertees such as singing, acting, dancing, sport, leadership and public speaking. I am great with people, as well as little kids. I am kind, responsible, respectful, articulate, confident, curious, fun, creative and have strong leadership skills.

SKILLS

  • Confident

I love speaking in front of other people and I have had to talk in front of big crowds before such as the board at The City Library, The Palmerston North Council, in the Square and  at CSNS assemblies. I have also had a lead in the school production and have had to perform at the Regent. I have also sung at NYE, The Speare Centre and numerous school music venues. I am also due to perform with my team at Jump Jam nationals in Auckland on October.
  • Responsible and reliable

I am a Young Leader at my school and have had to organise lots of events last minute. I always finish work to a high standard and am never late. I am great at juggling tasks.
  • Collaboration and creativity.

I am great at collaborating with others and always put forward my ideas. I am also really creative and always think outside of the box for things that will help my group or business.
  • Learning / Organised

I’m always focused and prioritise my learning and extra-curricula activities. I am strong in literacy so I can help with research for our business. I am committed to achieving everything to a high standard.

INTERESTS & ACTIVITIES

  • Singing
  • Acting
  • Dancing
  • Public Speaking
  • Showing Leadership
  • Running / Athletics
All of these show that I am diverse and willing to learn new things. I am creative and confident.

ACHIEVEMENTS

Clubs

I am in lots of clubs at school, as I like to get involved. I am in clubs such as;
  • Young Leaders
  • Band
  • Chorale
  • Open Mic
  • Jump Jam
  • Lit Quiz

Achievements

Singing Competitions

I competed with two songs and I won 1st and 2nd.

Lit Quiz

In Term 1 my team went to Manawatu Lit Quiz competition and we got 9th place, which was really exciting because we were up against Year 7’s and 8’s.

School Music

This year I got into all my school music groups including Band for the 3rd year, Chorale for the 3rd year, Open Mic for the 2nd year and we have Choir coming up soon.

Singing

Through Open Mic, I was asked to sing in The Square for the 2016/2017 annual New Years Eve concert. I was really nervous because I was singing in front of 800 - 900 people, but all that melted away when I got on stage.

Something else that I got through Open Mic was ‘The Open Mic Scholarship’ which is where I got $250 to spend on Singing, Acting or Dancing. I was absolutely ecstatic about that because when I had sung my song that night, I had the flu and I was feeling horrible.

EXPERIENCE / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • CEO

In Year 4, I was doing businesses like we are this year. I was in the Senior Syndicate. Back then as I was in a Year 4 & 5 class, which is why I got to do Senior businesses. I was chosen by my peers to be a CEO for a business called ‘Fashion Fiesta’.

  • Tween Events

Me, Madeleine and Kate went to the City Council to present a submission about lots of different issues that we thought our city had. One of them was about Tween Events, which led to us being invited to The City Library to help them develop their Tween programme. I am currently working with the Library to develop my Tween programme (which I have made a site for) called ActiviTweens.

  • Young Leaders

For Young Leaders we have to organise events and run stations. I have ran multiple stations and I have to look after all the kids at my station and make sure everyone's ok.

HABITS OF MIND

  • Persistence
Things can get hard in a business sometimes - you lose money and you win money, so you definitely need to persist with your business if you want to get far.
  • Thinking flexibly
You need to think outside of the box to come up with new ideas that make your brand stand out.

We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.

REFERENCE:

I have known Eilidh for all her 11 years. Eilidh is learning to take responsibility for completing tasks that she sees need doing. She has many accomplishments, but her greatest achievements are in performing and literacy. She strives for perfection in everything she does but occasionally needs reminding that it is okay to make mistakes. Eilidh has a good sense of what it means to work in a team. She has a pleasant nature,  good sense of humour and is very reliable and trustworthy. I would have no hesitation in recommending her for any role as she approaches all tasks with enthusiasm.
